Try the Latest Doconut 24.11.0 – Packed with Powerful New Features! πŸš€

What changed in Doconut 24.11.0: fixes to the Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Email and Project viewers. Try the same engine free on Doconut.app.

Doconut 24.11.0 is out. It is a fixes release rather than a feature release, and the fixes are specific enough to be worth listing β€” if one of them describes a file that came out wrong for you, it is worth trying that file again.

One note on products before the list. This is a release of the Doconut SDK, the licensed .NET component you install. The free site at Doconut.app runs the same rendering engine, so the improvements below show up there too β€” with nothing to download and no version to choose.

What’s New in Doconut 24.11.0?

Visio Viewer: Perfect Diagrams Every Time

  • Background pages: Visio background pages are drawn, so shapes that sat on them no longer go missing.
  • Missing diagrams: Cases where a diagram failed to render at all are fixed.

PowerPoint Viewer: Readability Improved

  • Text Extraction Fixes: Words split across lines now have proper spacing for better readability.

Excel Viewer: Enhanced for Clarity

  • Sharper Images: Improved image rendering for a crisp and professional look.
  • Precise Borders: Better border rendering ensures your spreadsheets are clean and easy to navigate.

Email viewer

  • Special character handling: Messages carrying unusual character encodings now display correctly rather than as mojibake.
  • Faster loading for email files.

Project Viewer: Focus on Detail

  • Task Progress Visibility: Task updates now display correctly, giving you a clear picture of your projects.
  • Consistent Font Styling: Fixed issues with font sizes when styles are applied.

Why Try Doconut 24.11.0?

Every item above is a case where a real file came out wrong, which is the useful way to read a release note: not as a list of features, but as a list of documents that used to fail.

Trying it

Just want to check one file? Open Doconut.app and drop it in. Free, no account, no download, deleted when you close the tab β€” the same engine, already on 24.11.0.

Evaluating the SDK for your own application? The trial licence and the documentation are on the Doconut.com download page.

If one of the fixes above matches a file that used to render badly, that is the file to test with. Sample documents always pass.
